Framed Cane Panel Made to Your Size, Solid Wood Frame, 3 Weaves
A solid-wood frame with natural cane webbing set in, built to the width and height you enter, with a drawing emailed for your approval before we cut.
Every roll is measured before it ships. Natural material: color and grain vary. Soak about 30 minutes before use.
This is a solid-wood frame with natural rattan cane webbing set inside, built to the width and height you enter on this page. Use it as a new cabinet door, an insert for a door you already have, a headboard, a room divider or a wall panel.
Set the size, the frame finish and the weave in the calculator, and the price updates as you go. The price you see there is the price you pay at checkout.
How to measure:
- For a door insert, measure the opening the panel has to fill: the rabbet (the recessed lip behind the opening) or the opening itself, not the outside of the door.
- Measure the width left to right and the height top to bottom, each in two or three places, and enter the smallest number. Old doors are rarely perfectly square.
- For a new door or a stand-alone panel, enter the outside size you want the finished frame to be.
- Sizes run from 6 to 48 in wide and 6 to 72 in tall, in 1/4 in steps.
Before we cut anything, we email you a drawing with the final dimensions. Hold it up against your own numbers, then approve it or tell us what to change. Nothing is cut until you approve.
The frame comes in oak, walnut-tone, black or white. The cane is natural rattan in open, square or herringbone weave. Natural cane starts out a light honey color and deepens slowly with light and age, so a new panel beside old cane furniture will look lighter at first.
For a panel larger than 48 x 72 in, or an order of more than 10 panels, ask us for a trade quote.
How to choose
Choose the weave by how much you want to see through it. Open weave has the classic octagonal holes and lets the most light and air through, which helps on a media cabinet. Square weave is a plain grid of small square openings and looks more modern. Herringbone is a close zigzag weave with very little see-through, good for hiding what sits on the shelves.
Choose the frame by the room. Oak and walnut-tone sit well with wood furniture and floors; black and white suit painted cabinets and walls. If the panel goes next to older cane, remember that new natural cane starts lighter and darkens over time.
Questions
Is the size I enter the outside of the frame?
Yes. We build the panel to the width and height you enter, frame included. The drawing we email shows those final dimensions so you can check them against your opening.
What if I measured wrong?
Nothing is cut until you approve the emailed drawing. If a number looks wrong when you check it, send us the corrected size before you approve.
Can I order a panel larger than 48 x 72 in?
Not through the calculator. For larger panels, or for more than 10 panels, ask us for a trade quote.
Can the panel go outdoors?
It is made for indoor use. Rain and strong sun are hard on natural cane and wood, so for a porch or patio look at our synthetic (PE) cane webbing instead.
Will the cane match my old cane furniture?
Not at first. New natural cane is a light honey color and darkens gradually with light and age, so it moves closer to older pieces over time.
